Neighborhood Talk

Roman Susan

Saturday, May 14, 2016

2:00 pm

1224 W Loyola Ave

Chicago, IL 60626

We invite our Rogers Park neighbors and all Roman Susan community members to attend this informal talk where we will discuss themes prevalent in Century Safe Chicago: what does the contemporary moment look like? How can we use mapping and archiving as a way to document this moment? How can the idea of preservation be used to frame issues of ephemerality?

The talk will be lead by a member of the Public Programming team from Jessica Cochran’s Curatorial Practice course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jessica herself, and two TBD artists from the exhibition. Immediately following the discussion, participants will be invited to write a letter and decorate a corresponding envelope, which will serve both as a metaphorical and literal homage to the Century Safe theme. This event is free and open to the public.
