Artist statement:
Julie Weber is an artist working within the framework of photography. Founded in research and experimentation, Weber’s practice pushes and pulls at the processes behind the making of images. Paring down to fundamental aspects – namely light, time, surface, and liquid – Weber reconsiders and redirects the potential of photographic materials, methods, and definitions. Often the materials themselves and the processes they undergo become the subject matter and in turn, visual metaphor.
